Shea should be slightly worried

So I'm growing more and more concerned by the second after watching highlights of today's division-clinching victory, in which the Mets won their first divisional title since 1988.

These cats were drowning themselves in Champagne, smoking big cigars and generally behaving as if this was a World Series victory party. It's not. This regular-season division title don't mean much, other than its a nice mark to own after an 18-year absence. Willie Randolph should know better and quell this nonsense.

This reminds me of the time that Bob Wenzel did his best Jim Valvano impression, running up and down the length of the basketball court with his fists pumping wildly in the air after Rutgers upended West Virginia in overtime on the road. It's embarrassing.

Bottom line: Act like you've been there before.

You could probably list about 10 other Rutgers victories that involved excessive celebrations:

-- Rutgers beats Notre Dame in MHoop at home for its 1st BE win
-- Rutgers men beat St. John's to win BE title. (I think the Johnnies went on to win the Natl Title that year)
-- Rutgers beats an overmatched Cincy for a bowl bid in football.

Must I go on?
